The library has five public scanners for converting your documents/photos into digital form and two black and white photocopiers
There are six scanners available for public use at the library including four standard scanners, a specialized book scanner and a multi-page scanner. All scanners are located on the second floor of the library as follows:
Scanner at Word Processing Computer
One standard scanner is connected to the computer labeled "Word Processor 1" on the second floor. This computer is not connected to the internet, so in order to save your scan, you will need to bring a device (such as a flash drive) to save your work. If you do not have a flash drive with you, you can borrow one at the Reference Desk for in-library use - to save your document and then email it or save it online (via Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.,) with one of our internet-connected computers.
Scanners connected to Internet Computers for Adults
There are three additional scanners available on the Adult Internet Computers on the second floor. Please note that you need to make a specific reservation for an internet computer with a scanner when you sign up for an internet reservation.
There is a specialized book scanner available on the second floor (the glass scanning area runs to the very edge of the machine, so you can scan the page of a book without laying the entire book out flat). You may scan and save your document as a PDF, JPG or TIFF file here. You can email the scanned document(s) directly from the book scanner or save them to your flash drive. You may also send documents to the printer from this scanner at a cost of $.10/page for black/white and $.25/page for color.
On the second floor there is a scanner that allows you to feed in multiple 8 1/2" x 11" pieces of paper to scan together as a single document. You need a flash drive to save your document to, as this scanner is not connected to the internet. If you do not have a flash drive with you, you can borrow one at the Reference Desk for in-library use - to save your document and then email it or save it online (via Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.,) with one of our internet-connected computers.
- Our large copying machines cost $0.10 per page and only produce black and white copies. (The book scanner on the 2nd floor can be used as a color copier - copies are $0.25 per page in color).
- First floor - in the hallway just to the right of the main Public Services Desk as you walk into the library.
- Second floor - to the left as you arrive on the second floor (via stairs or elevator) and proceeding straight ahead to the back wall.
