Drop-In Computer Lab Hours
Ask us questions, see the 3D printer up-close during any of our weekly drop-in classes in the Computer Lab on 2nd floor.
Wednesdays 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Thursdays 1:00pm - 2:30pm
The library has an "Ultimaker 2" 3D printer in the 2nd floor Computer Lab. We offer some basic classes about 3D printing, and can print 3D objects from your file (we do not have a 3D scanner at this time, so we can't make a copy of an object you bring in—you will need to send us a 3D file of the object you want printed. Please see our 3D printing procedure page for more details and limitations)
3D Printing at the Library
We can print files in the .stl, .obj, .dae, and .amf formats.
Cost to print
Free for the time being, but once our grant-funded filament supply runs out, we will be charging on a cost-recovery basis.

Send us a 3D file to print
The current turnaround time for 3D printing is approximately 1-2 weeks (we will contact you when your print is finished). When you have been notified that your 3D print is ready, stop at the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor to pick it up.
The Rochester Public Library's 3D printer was funded with a SELCO Community Collaboration Grant.
