Looking for A Few Good
The Friends' Bookstore inside the Rochester Public Library is run entirely by volunteers. Proceeds from store sales provide vital support to the Library. Last year, the Friends' Bookstore gave the Library $60,000.
In the Winter, the store is open 7 days a week. We are in need of more volunteers.
Bookstore volunteers do a variety of chores during their three hour shift such as: shelving new books and culling old stock, keeping certain areas alphabetized and most importantly, ringing up sales!
One of the BEST parts of the job is simply chatting with our customers about books, books, books! Come join our fun and dedicated team of library boosters.
Please inquire if you are interested and have some regular time in your schedule to commit. Contact volunteer coordinator Marilyn Campbell at 328-2341.
Quality Used Books & More!
The Friends bookstore is located on the main floor of the Rochester Public Library with the entrance in the Library lobby and directly inside the library Look for the blue awning.
Quality used books at reasonable prices are our specialty.
Stock includes children's books, fiction, non-fiction, foreign language and "unusual and special" books.
In addition to books, gift items such as gift certificates, music CDs, and signed books are also available.
The Bookstore is operated by the Friends of the Rochester Public Library as a non-profit organization with all proceeds going to the Rochester Public Library. All of our books are donated and we are staffed by volunteers. Please consider becoming a Friend's member and volunteering for the bookstore.
The Friends' Bookstore sells gift certificates in amounts of $2.00 and up.
