In conjunction with the RACE exhibit, the library invites youth age 10-18 to submit original artwork and writing that conveys their thoguhts and feelings after experiencing the exhibit. For more information about the contest please go to the links below.

YA Mural
A centerpiece of the young adult area is the large mural. This mural painted in 1998 was done by students from the area high schools. With the guidance of the Mayo High School art department these student put in long hours to complete the two part mural. The outside section is 41 feet long and 5 feet wide. The faces on the outside of the mural represent the diverse population of the world. The inside portion of the mural which measures 30 feet by 5 feet is painted with the rising and setting sun as well as portions of the Declaration of Human Rights.
