Requesting Materials Not Owned
Request recently published books, DVDs and CDs (published/released in the last 12 months). Patrons are limited to 10 recommendations per year.
Use MNLINK to search for and request items from other Minnesota
libraries.
Do not use MNLINK for requesting items published or released in the last six months use the recommendation for purchase form to request new materials. Requests for items already owned or ordered by our library will be canceled from your MNLINK account.
BOOK CLUB REQUESTS: Do not place book club requests on MNLINK, contact the interlibrary loan department at 507.328.2366 or email ill@rochester.lib.mn.us. We will need to know the book title, and when you need the books.
MNLINK requests will not appear on your Rochester Public Library account until the materials are received at the Rochester Public Library. View MNLINK brochure
If a title is not listed in MNLINK, or you would like to request microfilm or a journal/magazine/newspaper article, use the interlibrary loan form.
To check on the status of your MNLINK interlibrary loan requests, log on to your MNLINK account
For questions about interlibrary loan requests, or for renewals, contact ILL@rochester.lib.mn.us or call 507.328.2366.
Interlibrary Loan Tips
- Interlibrary Loan Policies for Patrons
- Interlibrary Loan Policies for Other Libraries
- If you have an email address, please add it to your library card registration information at the circulation desk (507.328.2304). Borrowers with email addresses are notified more quickly and efficiently regarding the status of their interlibrary loan requests.
- TV series on DVD are generally not available for interlibrary loan, since they are in high demand at their owning libraries.
- Many college libraries do not lend their DVD, videocassette, or CD collections.
- If the Rochester Public Library owns the same title, we will not request it from another library without staff approval.
