A pawsitively wonderful opportunity for reading practice!
What could be more delightful and encouraging than practicing reading skills with a dog as your audience? Based on research that supports the benefits of the human-animal bond, this program offers a special chance to boost literacy.
School-age children, grades 1-6, may sign up to read aloud to dog/handler teams. Children may bring their own books to read or choose from our selections.
- Improves literacy in a unique and fun environment
- All dogs are certified Therapy Dogs with Therapy Dogs International
- A library staff member will be present during reading sessions
- 20 minute reading sessions
For a positive reading experience, only registered child and accompanying parent/adult should attend.
Advance sign-up is required and space is limited.
