The Cattle Raid of Cooley is one of many stories about the Red Branch Knights of Ulster and the hero, Cuchulainn, Hound of Ulster. Myth or history? The Tain may well be based on events in Ireland around 500 B.C. The earliest written version of the story appears in the Book of the Dun Cow.
