Downloadable eBooks are books you read on your computer (PC or Mac), e-book reader (Sony Reader, Nook, Kindle), or smart phone (iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Palm). Most of the books in this category can be downloaded to your computer/device for the checkout period. Check to see if your device can download library eBooks

NOTE: You will need to download either the Adobe Digital Editions software (for PCs, Nooks, Sony Readers) or the appropriate app (Overdrive, Kindle, Bluefire Reader or Aldiko Book Reader) in order to download the book to your compatible device.

Can my device play library Audio Books, Music and Video?

Person listenting to MP3 playerThese downloadable resources include audio versions of print books, music and video. These resources may be downloaded to your computer and/or compatible MP3/media players (iPod, Zune). Check to see if your device can download library Audio Books, Music and Video.

You will need to download the OverDrive media console software in order to transfer digital titles to your device.

UPDATE for Apple iOS 5 users downloading WMA files: Regarding the issue of WMA files not showing up on an Apple device following the update to iOS 5, users can now update OverDrive Media Console for Windows to resolve the issue. Once you have transferred a WMA Audiobook to your device, a playlist will be created for the Audiobook. Please note that WMA Audiobooks will no longer be listed in 'Audiobooks' on your iOS5 device. This solution will work in the absence of a patch from Apple that would allow WMA titles to be named properly and stored under Audiobooks on a device using iOS 5.

Please keep in mind that this list can change very quickly
. Check the Device Resource Center FAQ site for the most up-to-date changes or the Complete Device List link for any individual downloadable format.
