Friends of the Rochester Public Library
The Friends of the Rochester Public Library is an organization of community people who support the public library with both financial and volunteer help. The Friends raise money through:
- membership contributions
- Friends of the Public Library Bookstore
- the Rochesterfest Garage Sale
- the Rochesterfest Silent Auction
- a Holiday Book and Bake Sale
- Winterfest Book Sale
- other special sales.
The money that they raise is given to the Rochester Public Library to expand collections and programs to finance the Read With Me program which encourages early literacy by giving books to area newborns. A quarterly newsletter is sent to members with upcoming events and programs.
