As of late 2014, we have been able to stream events live using the City of Rochester's Media Center page. Events such as recent candidate forms, the Faith Talk Show and Post Bulletin Dialogues are available "live" and also archived after the event at the Video of Libary Events page.
What you need to Stream Video
Video on a computer/laptopTo stream videos on your computer, you’ll need an up-to-date web browser (such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer) with Flash installed.
Video on a mobile device/tablet*
Mobile devices with browsers that support HTML5 will also be able to stream videos in those browsers. Please note that streaming video can consume a lot of data, so if you’re on a mobile plan with a data cap, we recommend using a Wi-Fi connection when streaming on your mobile device to avoid data overages.
* Special note for users of the Overdrive Media Console App - do NOT try to view video using the Overdrive app. Instead, use the web browser on your device (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.,) and log into your digital account and then press the "Play" button on your video once you've checked it out. See new streaming video instructions for more details.
