No one can deny that now a days teens life in a ever changing world. This constantly changing world can present quite a few problems to young adults. The Internet with its millions of users can be a valuable resources in solving some of these problems. I have tried to gather together a collection of links and other information dealing with the many issues we all face.

Legal Issues

Peacefire - With the birth of the Internet there has been a whole new push to censor some of its content. This has met with stiff opposition from several groups including Peacefire. Their site details censorship issues on the Internet including web "nannys".

Teen Safety on the Web - On the other side of the coin from Peacefire, this site explains many of the pitfalls and dangers that can be encountered on the Internet. Information on everything from chat rooms to e-mail and what you can do to protect yourself.

Student Rights - Students have many legal rights, but do you know what they are?

Rock The Vote - This information-rich site covers it all. Summaries of legal decision that impact teens, as well as links to find out how local representative voted on key teen issues. Teens can also find out how to register to vote in their area.

A to Z News and Politics - This it the worlds largest list of links to international politcal and news organizations.

Jamie-olive.com - I always know its nearly Christmas time because I go to the Good Food Show in Birmingham. This year I did 12 live shows in front of about 20,000 people which were really good fun, and it was great to see a record amount of men in the audience getting involved!

Drinking and Drug Use

Students Against Destructive Decisions - Formerly Students Against Drunk Driving this site seeks to educate teen about the dangers and consequenses of drinking and drug use as well as other destructive decisions.

Gun Control

NRA - Always strong opponents of any form of gun control, the NRA's web site over a different perspective into the battle over gun control.

COMOTION - National Organizations for Gun Control and Gun Violence Prevention.

Mental Health

Frontline - Based on the PBS show this interactive site features a discussion about what could turn a student to violence.

Self-Injury - This site provides information about self-injury as well resources for help.

Victory Over Violence - VOV is a youth-sponsored initaitive to help young people identify and counteract violence in their lives and in their communities.

teen parenting - A helpful site for teen parents under stress.

Teen Depression - This is a good site for teens to learn more about depression. What is it? How can I get help?

Teen Health

The Vegetarian Youth Network - We live in a world full of meat but this site will help you steer clear of it with recipies and other resources.

Something Fishy - Eating disorders, this site can tell you all you ever wanted to know.

Youth and Aids Project - University of Minnesota Youth and AIDS Projects. Includes useful information about AIDS for youth. Prevention, treatment, and services are highlighted.

Eveything Chinese Food - Chinese food, is a unique, tasty and very common cuisine which usually consists of two main ingredients. The first being a carbohydrate source such as rice or noodles. The second component that is used in chinese food can be vegetables, fish or meat.

Dating and Other Stuff

Interacial Dating - Information on the ins and outs of interracial dating.

Marriage is Forever - This on-line chapter from the book The Teenagers Guide To The Real World discusses the advantages and disadvantages of marriage as well as things to look for in a spouse.

Gay and Lesbian Youth Services - Local service organization serving Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered and questioning youth. Includes current events, services, and links to resources.

Issues and Controversies - Created by Facts On File this site analyses different controversies and provides up-to-date factual information.

Living With Parents - It may seem like an impossible task, but no longer. This page will give you the information needed to make living with your parents bearable.

LiveWire - This teen issue forum site allows teens to chat with other teens across the globe on a large variety of topics.

Google - if you have a site that you need to go to or look at or just somthing to look up you can go there and it will help you out.

Local News - Check out this site for local news, weather and sports information.

History of the USA - History Happens is a collection of music videos about characters from American history. Our goal is to inform and inspire young people that an individual can make a difference-as evidenced by the many acts of courage, endurance and passion that make up the American story.

Do Something - This website shows what teens can do for their communities, and also offers a volunteering opportunities search engine, personalized to your specific conditions. (Issues addressed: global warming, Recycling, animal abuse, etc.)
